So… this is a surprise. The same card came up for me again for the second time in a row, despite the fact that I shuffle and mix the cards pretty well. Today’s oracle draw: Maiden Moon. Again.
The last time she came up, it was in reference to the fact that I was starting my diet, and timing was all important. If she’s coming up again, it makes me wonder if it is because I have missed something, or if it is because, like the moon, things are progressing, waxing, waning, and changing. Today we are really close to the full moon, which is a good time to examine all of the things that we have drawn to ourselves and appreciate them.
Like the moon, my body was full. I’m not morbidly obese, or even all that overweight according to most people, but my body fat percentage is not where I wanted it, and I am working hard to change it. I think this card may be telling me to keep an eye over my shoulder like the woman on the card, remembering where I was at my worst so that I can appreciate myself as I change. To that end, I have been having my husband take a weekly photo of me, sort of like a time lapse thing. I feel almost as if the deck is wishing me luck.
The Enchanted Oracle features the artwork of the amazingly talented Jessica Galbreth and a book by Barbara Moore. If you love faeries, I also recommend the Oracle of the Dragonfae by various artists with an accompanying book by Lucy Cavendish.
